Excited to be earning and learning

At FCCPP, we embrace the philosophy that "everyone's journey is different" and that sometimes it's a team effort that delivers the most rewarding wins.

BJ's Story

Meet BJ, a bright and determined First Nations year 10 student from Carinity College.

BJ loves to be hands-on and it was during a career presentation on trades, delivered by our Program Coordinator, Kirsty, that BJ discovered a whole new world of career opportunity and possibilities.

Enter Jack, from All Things Rendering in Hervey Bay. As a team, Kirsty and BJ approached Jack and secured BJ a work experience stint which had the potential to lead to a school-based apprenticeship....

....BJ's work experience with Jack went exceptionally well. He was a rendering natural and super keen to learn more about the industry.

Great news!! BJ has been successful in gaining a school based apprenticeship in a Certificate III in Solid Rendering with Jack from All Things Rendering. Working two days a week with Jack, BJ will learn the trade, get paid and still enjoy seeing his mates at school, giving him the perfect school/work-life balance.

This is the beginning of an exciting path for BJ, one that promises to make the transition from school to apprenticeship as smooth as possible.

Kirsty, provided the necessary support, information and guidance along the way with connection to MAS Apprenticeships, an Australian Apprenticeship Support Service, ensuring BJ and Jack have all the support and resources needed for a successful outcome. Kirsty and Jack will continue to support BJ, ensuring he has the guidance and encouragement needed to succeed.

BJ is excited about the potential his apprenticeship holds. The structured transition from Year 12 into a full-time apprenticeship in two years gives him focus and a clear attainable goal where he can earn and learn! His story is a testament to the power of determination, support, and the opportunities that apprenticeships can provide.

Jack from All Things Rendering is optimistic - to have an employee he can train and develop specific to his needs, means he is shaping the future of his workforce.

FCCPP will be with BJ and Jack every step of the way....
