Bringing our creative brand to life

The beautiful creative brand that you see today, was co-designed by students from Urangan State High School and St Mary’s College, Maryborough. They worked under the direction of LeeLee West, a local artist and graphic designer, who specialises in co-design branding projects across regional Australia.

Students attended workshops and shared their ideas and visual expressions, focussing on the theme ‘Everyone’s journey is different’.  Every student’s representation of that theme has been included on FCCPP’s creative branding, and we are incredibly proud and grateful for their contributions.

Here’s what LeeLee had to say about the process…

“When I was approached me about creating the branding for FCCPP, I quickly worked out that to do the best job, we’d need to involve students. The best way to create a brand that we want school age students to connect with, is to involve the target audience in the brand creation itself.

I put together some art direction for the students to spark some ideas based on our brand strategy. We wanted the brand personality to feel like a cohort of students, with diversity and creativity at its core. Our guiding theme for the co-design branding project was ‘Everyone’s Journey is Different’ encouraging students that school to University isn’t the only approach and that’s ok. We all follow different pathways and we are all unique. I myself went from school into a traineeship at the Hervey Bay Regional Gallery, which set me on a creative career path that I love.

The students at St Mary’s College and Urangan State High School have produced fantastic work in response to this branding task. Their creations are unique, imaginative, inspiring and fun. We are so grateful for all of the student’s care and hard work and the results speak for themselves.

Because of their creative contributions, we now have an FCCPP brand that feels how we wanted it to feel; creative, diverse, interesting and appealing to students. This outcome would not have been possible without the creativity of the students and I’m honoured that I’ve been able to bring your ideas to life. Congratulations to everyone involved.”
