Fraser Coast Career Pathways: Embracing Real Opportunities and Making a Lasting Impact
The how-to-get- from-school-to-work pathway can offer up feelings of uncertainty, but with the right support, young adults can step into their future with confidence. The Fraser Coast Career Pathways Program (FCCPP) is, by design, facilitating that transition by guiding students along an explorative journey of career pathway options, the chance for real industry experience opportunities, and connecting students directly with local employers.
With the program now in hiatus, having fulfilled its funding contract term, the end results have more than something positive to say! Over 1,200 students explored career pathways, 180 industry placements provided hands-on experience, and more than 50 students secured school-based apprenticeships and traineeships.
Just numbers? These are real stories. Stories of students who discovered opportunities they may never have considered or were too afraid and overwhelmed to try. Because at the heart of FCCPP is one simple truth: everyone’s journey is different.
The demand for skilled workers in our region isn’t slowing down, and programs like this are key to building a strong local workforce. The FCCPP Final Outcomes Report, outlining the program’s successes, the lessons learned, and the road ahead, is now available.
We’re asking to hear from students, parents, educators, and industry leaders:
-
What worked well?
-
What challenges still need addressing?
-
How can we keep these career pathways open for young people in our region?
Your insights matter. We would love for you to download the report, share your feedback, and help shape the future of career education and workforce development in the Fraser Coast.
